Dr V Talaulikar, Senior Clinical Lecturer, University College, London at the #UnlockEducation show explained that when the initial criteria of restrictions were made in the UK, it was based on four things - population, rate of infection, the prevalence of infection, and countries access to genomic surveillance. However, Dr Talaulikar says that now that the cases are coming down in India, the country could be removed from the Red list, provided the students have received both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
